Welcome to the Woodbury Bridge Club!
We are an ACBL sanctioned duplicate bridge club and meet three times a week to play duplicate bridge.
In between regular game days (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday), we also offer “chat bridge” with informal lessons, which is a great way to learn to play under the guidance of more experienced players. “Chatters” can ask the experts questions about how to bid and how to play while the game is going on, and then get help analyzing the hands afterwards.
Locations
Our permanent location is at Central Park Woodbury (8595 Central Park Place, Woodbury), which is currently undergoing renovation and expansion. We hope to get back there sometime in 2025.
Meanwhile, we are meeting at Shawnee Park (6515 Scheel Drive, Woodbury).
In addition, we offer one game per week at the American Legion (2678 7th Ave E, North St. Paul).
Monday at Shawnee Park
Game starts at 12:30pm, with registration from noon to 12:15pm. Please try to arrive no later than 12:15pm so that we can set up the game properly. Game fees are $2 per person.
Tuesday “Chat Bridge” at Shawnee Park
Chat Bridge begins with a short lesson from one of our experienced players. Topics are generally in response to prior questions from chatters on subjects they want to know more about. The lesson is followed by an informal session of duplicate bridge, in which players are divided up into pairs and play hands from bridge boards using bidding boxes. Mentors circulate around the room, and players are free to ask questions about bidding and play, both during and after each hand is played. It’s a fun way to learn serious bridge!
Wednesday at the American Legion
Game starts at noon, with registration beginning at 11:00am. Please try to arrive no later than 11:45am so that we can set up the game properly. The Legion has a kitchen and a bar and the food is great! Game fees are $4 per person for club members, $5 per person for non-members.
Thursday at Shawnee Park
Game starts at 9:30am, with registration from 9:00am to 9:15am. Please try to arrive no later than 9:15am so that we can set up the game properly. Game fees are $2 per person.
